In addition to being a great time to learn new skills on snow, summer also provides a ski racer the best opportunity to test next winter’s equipment from top ski brands. Equipment manufacturers will again provide test centers at Mount Hood and Mammoth Mountain. Now’s the time to start thinking about testing and dialing in your setup for next season.

Marker / Dalbello / Völkl

The main focus for MDV has been new junior GS skis in all lengths. Three key technologies driving the success of athletes on these skis are:

  • Utilization of the Soft Tip Torsion technology that we introduced in this year’s junior slalom skis makes them easier to initiate at the all-important top of the turn without losing stability or grip.
  • ‘Grown Layup’ Construction – each length is tailored to the skier with a construction that gets stiffer and more resilient as we go up the size curve.
  • New plates – two-piece plate is softer in the shorter lengths and one-piece in the longer lengths is more tailored to the skier’s individual needs.

At Mount Hood, the MDV test center will be located in the normal spot above Charlie’s Mountain View restaurant on Main Street and will be open June 5-July 3, open daily 12:30-4 p.m.

MDV will also have demo product available at Mammoth for the month of May.

Rossignol / Dynastar / Lange / LOOK

The Rossignol/Dynastar/Lange/Look Race Department is excited to be back in Government Camp for the 2021 summer. After an unprecedented season, athletes will have the opportunity to test several updated products this summer. The junior slalom and GS ski lines were developed with progressive, size-relative flexes to elevate junior athletes. A new race plate, the R21 PRO, will further develop junior athletes’ precision, balance, and power on the junior slalom and GS skis. In addition, structure updates can be found in the 150 and 157 FIS slalom, as well as the 188 30M and 193 30M GS skis. The updates increase torsional stability to create a stronger, more balanced ski in every condition.

The Rossignol/Dynastar/Lange/Look test center will be located on Government Camp’s Main St. in the containers near Mount Hood Academy, across from Collins Lake and will be open from June 4-July 2. Rossignol/Lange/Dynastar/Look will have skis at Mammoth, as well, until the end of June.
