Ski industry veteran Herwig Demschar is the new General Manager of SilverStar Mountain Resort in Vernon.
From Austria, Demschar will take on the role following the retirement of longtime chief executive Ken Derpak.
Demschar is well known in the ski industry as a former ski coach, employee of several Olympic and Paralympic Organizing Committees, as well as the former COO of POWDR, a sports lifestyle company. ‘adventure that’ inspires every human being with cool experiences in awesome locations. .”
Most recently, he oversaw the hugely successful return of the Alpine Skiing World Cup to the East in Killington, Vermont and was the General Manager of POWDR’s heli-skiing company, Powderbird.
