Lindsey Vonn reveals her role model

As everyone has their own role models, it’s great to see Vonn talking so happily about Street. The legend met Street at an autograph study location, and it was the experience of meeting the 1998 Olympic gold medalist that paved the way for Vonn’s founding.

“Picabo Street was my idol growing up. I met her as a student autograph when I was nine. Those 90 seconds changed my life. Because of her, I wanted to be an Olympian, and I went home that that night and I told my dad I wanted to go to the Olympics. We made a 10-year plan and we did it. I started the Lindsey Vonn Foundation in 2015, based on my experience with Picabo Street when I was nine,” Vonn said.

A true champion

Vonn won her first Olympic gold medal at the Vancouver Olympics in 2010 and became part of the illustrious clan. However, she suffered devastating injuries that derailed her career for a time. Still, Vonn returned to the Olympics in 2018 winning her third Olympic medal.

The kind of impact a world-class athlete gives to young children is nothing short of amazing. Teaching them to dream big, Vonn set goals at a very young age. To sum up, with her foundation, she helps the rest of the children to be inspired like her. A great initiative from Lindsey Vonn.
