Sage Stefani of Rossland put the finishing touches to an incredible ski season by winning the 2022 NorAm Cup overall.

Sage, 19, finished first in points on the NorAm ski cross circuit by winning the 2022 NorAm Cup title in Nakiska on April 10.

Alpine Canada announced, “The overall NorAm ski cross standings were awarded to Nakiska Ski Resort this past weekend, and we have national pride to CELEBRATE! Your king and queen are @reece_howden & Sage Stefani!

“Congratulations to all the athletes who have charged throughout the season fighting for the podium.”

The former Red Mountain Racer has just returned from a competition in the European World Cup.

Sage ended his time in Europe with a personal best seventh place at the 2022 World Junior Ski Cross Championships in Veysonnaz, Switzerland on March 29.

“It was a super fun experience, I got to race with different competitions than I was used to, and I’m really excited to have gotten this far,” Sage said. “Putting seventh was my PB so far in Europe, I’m really happy to have finished strong here.”

The NorAm Championship also grants Stefani and Team Canada an additional spot (quota) on the Ski Cross World Cup circuit for the upcoming season.

Sage’s sister September also rode well this season finishing 12th overall in the NorAm Cup while skiing with Sage at Evolve Ski Club in Calgary.
