JACOBUS, Richard “Rick” Godfrey Jr. In Heaven Along with his father Richard “Rick” Godfrey Jacobus, Jr. rose to eternal life on September 7, 2021. Born to Richard Godfrey and Carolyn Royer Jacobus on November 3, 1961, Rick leaves in the mourning by her daughter Carolyn and her mother Anne van Eijk; his beloved mother Carolyn Jacobus; his beloved sisters Nancy (Peter) Bach, Barbara (Merrick) Wells, Kathy Sue Jacobus, Marcy (Tom) Coker and Susanna Jacobus; fourteen nieces and nephews; fourteen cousins ​​and many precious friends. Rick was predeceased and is at peace in Heaven with his father, Richard Godfrey Jacobus, whom he loved very much, and his grandparents. Rick grew up in Elm Grove and River Hills, Wisconsin. After graduating from the University School of Milwaukee in 1980, he received his Bachelor of Science in Management from Babson College (1984) and his Master of Information Science (2003), as well as a Masters of Administration. of Business (2004) from The Pennsylvania State University. Rick resided in Boston, Massachusetts, after several years in Chicago, Charlotte and London. After graduating from Babson, Rick was proud to join the Bank of Boston in the business lending field. He then built a distinguished career as a senior project manager in the financial services and technology industries with positions at Bank of America, Fidelity Investments, Citizens Financial Group and US Bank. Rick’s upbringing was full of joy and pride. He excelled in sports and was particularly admired for his sportsmanship. Rick’s eight years at Camp Red Arrow on Trout Lake in northern Wisconsin, spending two months each summer, have been significant in forming his long-standing friendships, as well as his goals of living a life of ‘integrity. At Camp Red Arrow, Rick continued the tradition established by his father and uncles, as well as his male cousins, to uphold the camp motto, “Don’t wait to be a great man, be a great one. boy”. Affirming this determination, Rick has been recognized as an “Honor Camper” summer after summer and awarded the “Friendship Cup” twice. In USM High School, Rick could always be counted on as a team player on the soccer and basketball field. Joining the family at Coon’s Franklin Lodge after camp, Rick thrilled everyone with his waterskiing abilities, including his famous barefoot beach start. He also enjoyed downhill skiing, tennis, golf, and later long runs in and around Boston. As the only boy between three older and younger twin sisters, Rick was the leader of mischief and fun in the home, requisitioning help with his household chores in return for brotherly protection and guidance. Over the years, Rick has supported his sisters, parents and good friends in the most sincere way. His intuition as to what would be an ideal birthday or Christmas present was unmatched. Those attributes of sincerity and thoughtfulness that Rick lived through, along with his wonderful smile, will be sadly missed by everyone. Rick was dedicated to his father’s business endeavors. He once said, “I loved watching my dad and how his voice was so respected in the community. This undoubtedly helped found Rick’s own business career. He was honored to carry his father’s name and stand up for his ideals. Rick was always delighted to share his joys and accomplishments with his mother whom he loved with all his heart. Most important to Rick was his daughter, Carolyn Anne Jacobus, born June 28, 2017. Rick has found a great reason to take care of all of her needs. The memories formed over these years will forever warm our hearts. Rick laid a solid foundation for Carolyn and her loving and caring father will be remembered. Rick was a member of the Milwaukee Country Club and many professional and alumni organizations. In Boston, Rick became interested in child-focused charities, youth mentoring, and environmental initiatives. Rick’s life has been a blessing to all of us as he has lived with and for others. A private memorial service at the First Congregational Church in Wauwatosa and internment at Wisconsin Memorial Park will take place on Tuesday, September 28. A reception to celebrate the life of Rick, open to all friends and family, will be held later today on September 28 at 5:30 p.m. at the Milwaukee Country Club, 8000 N.
