Casper’s peaks could climb above 70 degrees ahead of cooler temperatures, chance of rain and snow Friday and into the weekend

CASPER, Wyo. – The Casper area could experience warmer temperatures for a few days this week and could also have spring rain and snow showers, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) forecast in Riverton.

Casper is expected to peak near 70 degrees on Tuesday. While the temperature is expected to be warmer, the NWS at Riverton is also predicting strong winds with gusts up to 45 mph during the day. Casper then has a 40% chance of rain showers and snow showers on Tuesday night, with a 50% chance on Casper Mountain. The mountain could see up to an inch of snow accumulation, according to the NWS in Riverton.

Wednesday is expected to be cooler in Casper, with high forecast near 58 degrees. Wind gusts could reach up to 37 mph.

Thursday is expected to be the hottest day of the week in Casper, with a high near 72 degrees predicted by the NWS at Riverton. Windy conditions are expected to continue, with gusts of up to 36 mph possible.

Friday’s high in Casper is forecast at near 64 degrees. Friday afternoon brings a 50% chance of rain showers to Casper and Casper Mountain, according to the NWS in Riverton. That chance of rain increases to 70% in Casper overnight Friday, and a 70% chance of rain and snow is forecast for the mountain.

Rain and snow showers may continue over the weekend. Cooler temperatures are expected over the weekend in Casper, with a high near 46 degrees expected on Saturday and a high near 51 degrees expected on Sunday.
