To kick off the holiday season, BACARDÃ released a series of âWinter Summerlandâ spots, marking the brand’s first holiday campaign in years. Composed of three vignettes: 15, the campaign shows how sipping a BACARDÃ cocktail inspires a Caribbean summer mood, whatever the time of year.
All of the films in the “Winter Summerland” campaign will share a common character: an elegant, brightly dressed local who pedals his colorful cocktail cart meets Caribbean audio system. Using his powerful, rock beats, the bartender / DJ shakes up the season and reveals playful, tropical “Winter Summerlands” hidden beneath what appear to be cliched snowy vacation scenes. When the unveiling takes place, viewers will see people living in the tropics indulge in spontaneous island revelry with a BACARDÃ-inspired summer mood. Designed and created by BBDO New York, the âWinter Summerlandâ commercials will air from 9/11 to 31/1 and will be broadcast on Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, Snapchat, YouTube, Pandora, Soundcloud, iHeart Radio and National TV in the whole world. Finally, in December, BACARDÃ will also take over the iconic Times Square billboards for an epic hour-long showcase of the âWinter Summerlandâ spots.

In ‘Chalet, ‘the elegant bartender climbs up to what appears to be a snowy ski chalet. As its “Sound of Rum” draws closer, the vibrations of the music shake the snow to reveal that it is in fact a colorful beach bungalow filled with locals celebrating the season with BACARDÃ Reserva Ocho.

In ‘Ice domes, ‘the cyclist passes through a cluster of what looks like snow domes on an icy beach. Once again, its eye-catching island riddim shakes the snow off, revealing holiday revelers dancing under colorful umbrellas while enjoying spicy BACARDÃ cocktails.

The last place, ‘Trees, ‘features the same bartender / DJ rolling his cart through what appears to be a pine forest buried in fresh powder. As it cuts through with its powerful bass, snow falls to reveal that it is in fact snow-capped palm trees with colorful beach hammocks looming up containing brightly dressed guests holding BACARDÃ Mojitos.
